Free pattern - Zelda, Ocarina of time - brooch and pencil topper
For those like me, who loves nintendo! This is a free pattern of Link pencil topper or brooch. Inspired in little Link of Ocarina of Time. You also can use it as a brooch putting a little pin in the back.
Abreviations:
Sc: single crochet
BLO: Back loop
FLO: Front loop
slst: slipt stich
Dc: Doble crochet
Dec: Decrease
Inc: Increase
Ch: Chain
Materials:
Cream yarn (2-fine)
Green yarn (2-fine)
Yellow yarn (2-fine)
Dark Brown yarn (2-fine)
Brown yarn (2-fine)
Glue
Crochet hook 2.0 mm
Tapestry needle
Head and body
1- Starting wiht cream yarn, MR=6sc
2- Inc in all stitches = 12sc
3- 6- sc in all stitches = 12sc
7- 5sc in green yarn +2sc in cream yarn + 5sc in green yarn
8-12- in green yarn, sc in all stitches = 12sc
13- BLO: sc in all stitches = 12sc
14-18- in cream yarn, sc in all stitches = 12sc
On round 13 continue crocheting his clothes. Insert the hook in one of the front loops free (start in the back), 3ch and make dc all the round = 12dc. Close first round, make 3ch and crochet a second round = 12dc, close the round and hide yarn.
Neck
With green yarn
Between rounds 6 and 7, insert crochet hook and make sc all the round.
Belt
With brown yarn make 13 chains and cover the round 12, join the borders on the back and hide yarns. For embroider the buckle use yellow yarn. I passed the thread twice through each of the sides of the square.
To make the shield strap, pass the thread diagonally over one shoulder.
Sleeves
With green yarn
On both sides of the body embroider the sleeves covering 2 stitches (rounds 8 y 9), pass the yarn around 10 times. Dont sew them too tigth.
Eyes
With dark brown yarn
On round 5, embroider 1 stitch. Leave 2 stitches between the eyes
Ears
With cream yarn
For right ear, insert the hook from the front side, take yarn and make 2ch, then sc in the same stitch and close it. For left side insert the hook from the back and do the same.
Hair
With yellow yarn
Embroider the hair as you see in the pictures, from the top to the forehead and over the ears.
Hat
With green yarn
1- MR=4sc
2- (1inc + 1sc)x2= 6sc
3- Sc all round = 6sc
4- (1inc + 2sc)x2= 8sc
5- Sc all round = 8sc
6- (1inc + 3sc)x2 = 10sc
7-Sc all round = 10sc
8-(1inc + 4sc)x2 = 12sc
9-Sc all round = 12sc
10- (1inc + 5sc)x2 = 14sc
11-13- Sc all round = 14sc
Close and hide yarn. Paste the hat on the head (use glue). Put it between rounds 1 and 4 (round 1 in the front and 4 in the back). Finnally, fold the hat for give it´s real shape. Sew some stitches. See the picture bellow.
Shield
With brown yarn

1- 2nd loop from the hook 1inc + 1sc + 2inc + 1sc + 1inc = 10sc
2- 2inc + 1sc + 4inc + 1sc + 2inc = 18sc
Embroider the symbol with red yarn.
Then I´ll add more characters!!
